The Lonely Burro began as a gear test/demo of the most excellent Mojo Hand FX El Guapo fuzzbox. Huge thanks to Ed Pettersen for his kind loan: I had no idea it would send me on such an awesome adventure.

After a few fuzz demo tracks, I was referring to the pedal as "The Little Donkey" and other fond names and at some point, began imagining a narrative. I began doing research on Donkeys, burros and mules and when I re-titled one clip "The Silver Apple" the idea took off, with the recording of 4 tracks to flesh out the story. I find it amusing that what began as an exercise in gear-geekery, grew into a full blown project.

And of course, "The Silver Apple" is a loving homage to the late, great Morton Subotnick and his epic recordings, "Silver Apples of the Moon" and "The Wild Bull"
